test message 1 2 3 4
Ken
This is a test for today's blogging session.
This is a test.
today's in-service was fun and interesting...was in cadd and Mrs. Fisher did a great job
I thought the Fraser clip was a good way to begin the In Service, and actually made the point that there are different kinds of intelligence and learning.
The shop experience was also fun and interesting. Anytime an academic instructor gets a chance to visit the shops and spend time on activities there, he or she is gaining a more complete view of the school and its true function as an educational institution.
It is very good to have learned about CADD and I hope I will be learned more about this programe again in the future.
This inservice was extremely entertaining. The CADD instructors (Guy and Brenda) were informative and their project was fun. Everyone was engaged and this experience gave us insight on their shop and expertise.
Thanks!
This was the best in-service we have ever had. Guy and Brenda did a great job. We had a hands on experience to beat the band. We got to prove out the production made and were given a prize to strive for!
The inservice was really useful and informative. As an academic teacher this insight was priceless, and it was enjoyable. We should have more inservices like this. It was good to see a finished product and follow the process that the auto collision teachers work with.
This was just plain fun! Roy,Ron and Ed were terrific. I think I can now fix Lappin's dent in his Camery. I wish I didn't wear my tux though.
As a part of this in-service, I joined Mrs. Fisher's CADD group. I believe that all the other participants will agree with this: the activity in which we were engaged was truly challenging and interesting.
Thank you.
R. Colunga.
The inservice was great and very informative.
I should also mention that Mr. Ganegeme was extremely helpful by assisteing us with weigghing and measuring our artifacts and gadgets.
R. Colunga.
Todays in service was what I feel one of the best. It was good to see how other programs / shops operate. The collision shop definitely has its act together.
without a doubt, the best release day in YEARS!!!!!
Math teacher in Auto Collision Tech.
Extremely informative, interesting, and enjoyable. The teachers did a great job of making us feel comfortable, but also made it clear how important it is to be meticulous at every stage.
I have a much better understanding of the auto body process, but not of how the math that we teach fits into it. It is too bad that we have to be an MCAS driven school, when there is so much benefit to supporting the students in their chosen shops
I truely hope that someday the state and federal governments will rediscover the dignity of skilled craftsmen, and the school budget will allow for a more diverse program that supports both the shop and MCAS driven academics.
Our students have done amazingly well competeing in a field that the never chose, and must be made to honor their own particular achievements
It was great to be able to laugh at Frazier. Enjoyed Medical with Estelle and Karen. Pleasure to be with faculty from other departments.
In carpentry we made a shaker coat hangar. It was a blast. The carpentry teachers are unbelievably talented, patient and kind. Dan has LUXURIOUS hair....
The in service got off on the right note also with the Frasier clip. It was hysterical.
was in carpentry and had a great day.made a shaker coat rack.thanks to the guys in carpentry for putting up with us.
Today's in-service was a lot of fun. It was good to see what my students are doing when they are not in my classroom. The information was interesting. It would be great if we could do this again to see even more of the shops.
This was one of the best inservices we have had. It allowed the academic side of the house to get a better idea what the voke side does. I think it also brought both sides together a little more.
I was in carpentry and the teachers there were fantastic. They made the experiance fun as well as enlightening us to what the kids have to learn. I don't know how they do it with 20 or more kids at a time.
I hope we can have more inservices of this type in the future.
Had a wonderful day in carpentry!!We made a shaker peg /coat rack that I am so proud of and cannot wait to use. All the teachers were great with us and explained everything fully and clearly. They do a great job there. Thank you for the best in-service day.
I visited CADD for the Inservic.
My over all impression of today was that it was educational and social-all positive!
Honestly another Inservice similar to today would be beneficial to all staff.
I am a Physical Education Teacher that visited the Carpentry Shop today. I thought today's in-service was a great idea. The Carpentry Instructors did a great job in planning and overseeing our project that they helped us make. Also wanted to comment on Mr. Hamel's LUXURIOUS hair.
I think that for future integration In-Service days we should return the favor and spend a day in the academic areas.
I work in the Social Studies department and visited Carpentary Shop. It was a great experience! I feel I can better relate to what the technical people do now. As far as suggestions for future in-service, just keep mixing it up and keep it fun. Thanks!
I thought today's inservice was a good idea. I would like to see an academic class next time.
I was in carpentry and it was fantastic. I teach Math. We got to use the machinery, starting with a regular hand saw...and a power saw that moves at 120mph..and we have a finished product that we are taking home with us. It was great for us to be able to see what our students do in shop. I would like to see future in-servces that do more of the same. It might also be good if we could spend some time in our own department discussing issues that are relevant to our own area.
I visited the carpentry area and I teach math. This was by far the best in-service we've ever had. Everyone was relaxed and just enjoyed the activity and each others company. I feel this in-service brought back the school spirit that unfortunately has been missing for to long. This was great and I would enjoy more of these so I can explore each area.
I had Medical and it was very interesting. I think that Ms. Roy and Ms. Sullivan did a great job. That class had fun and the timing was great!
Visited the electrical area from special needs.
Best in service I can remember. Great warm up exercise and very informative being in the technical areas. Thanks to Electrical
Another iin service like today would be welcomed.
I really enjoyed this inservice . I was in CADD. It was interactive ,fun and interesting. I
learned alot about how important design is when companies market a product .
Not always an easy Task . Now I know
what CADD students do .
Thank you for a fun ,learning experience. The CADD team were awesome... Lets do it again !!!!!

It was a great way to interact with academic and other tecnical teachers. Medical was fun and interesting.
This was unbelievably fun. The film at the beginning was a good representation of the real world of teaching. I was a presenter, and I have to say, I had a wonderful time. We never get to see our comrades. I would love to do this again.
1. I was in the carpentry integration project and I teach history. It was great fun. We learned how to use certain equipment in the shop, safety rules, measurement and how to use prints. The teachers were great, Dan, Ray, Kevin and Pat. I enjoyed this in-service tremendously. Dan's asked to say his hair was luxurious. I don't know about that but my experience was luxurious. We made a three peg shaker rack.
3. Another day that allows us to visit other technical areas or work in developing projects for intergrating the academic and technical areas.
I visited the Carpentry shop and had a blast! I teach in the SPED dept. We made a 3 Peg Shaker Rack and I'm quite pleased. The team in carpentry did an excellent job of steering us around the various pieces of machinery. They were so patient with all of us! Oh and Dan had luxurious hair! It was great to be up and doing something different.
Thanks!
As a facilitator, I cannot say enough about what a pleasure it was to be a part of this in service. We in carpentry have never witnessed such an interested and enthusiastic group. They made our day, as hopefully we made theirs. Thank you to those who participated, it was a great experience.
It was an enjoyable experience. The staff who came into the shop were great.
This was an awesome in-service! I loved the Frasier clip...it set just the right 'tone'...and making the Shaker 3-peg rack in Carpentry was so much fun! The guys there were really helpful...can't get over Dan's luxurious hair! I feel like I experienced what our kids do. Very informative. Thanks to all.
I was an instructor for the in-service and have to say the participation level was very enthusiastic. It was nice to have the academic folks say that they have a new appreciation for what we do.
What a great intro with the Frasier episode.
Today, a history teacher was in the plumbing department.
This had to be the best in-service yet. Excellent!
It would be nice to have an integration inservice like the students once had in project glass.
This in service was interesting and fun. Masonary did a great job.
Great day!
I was in Health Assistant and the teachers were so well prepared. We learned a number of things concerning infection control. What could have been a very dry topic was actually a lot of fun.
I'll now view nursing homes in a whole new light!!!!
I thought today was the best inservice we ever had. The teachers in the Health area were very good. We learned how to properly wash hands, and reduce the spread of infections. Bye the way ask the ladies in Health about Palm Manor! You will be in for a big surprise!
Great idea for the day!
This was the best inservice we have ever had. I hope that we can continue to have similar days. I am a History teacher who did the Cosmo shop. It was a fun day.
Metal Fab Masters Freddy, Sully, and Tommy; gave a great presentation and demonstration. This workshop was fun because of the interaction it allowed us. Following learning activities, we heated and formed the famous fabricated flower under the focused fostering of the Masters.
Sincere thanks for a most enjoyable workshop.
1) I went to electrical with Mr. Stuart. I am a paraprofessional in Title I.
2) I felt this was one of the better inservice we had this year. We need to keep this up.
3) I feel we should to do more inservice like this it give us a better understanding what our students go through.
Excellent idea for an
in-service!! Let's do it again, but visit more shops next time. Thanks!
What an amazing day! I spent the day in Electronics and I have such respect for those teachers. They explained a complicated process clearly and encouraged each of us the entire time. I walked away with an electronic clock that makes me so proud!
In addition to learning about other shops, today gave me an invaluable opportunity to meet more of the teachers. The comraderie and experience were invaluable.
Better than all the other inservices combined!
It was grest to be a part of the other side of the house. I visited Carpentry and it was wonderful to be able to see the Math involved in an actual Carpentry project. I enjoyed it tremendously. It would be so useful to Math teachers to experience more of the technical areas during future release days.
Today's inservice was great! The health instructors were excellent and well prepared. Everyone seemed to enjoy working with the technical side.
Over the years I have had the opportunity to work with instructors in a variety of technical areas and enjoyed it very much. It was nice to have this this opportunity again today in the electrical area.
Well done.
Great inservice!!! Helped to see what happens on the other side. Health instructors were wonderful.
Today's session was very enjoyable as a facilitator. My "students" seemed to be very interested and performed admirably. Certainly one of the best in-service sessions ever. Let's do it again.
Today I participated in the Carpentry In-Service Presentation. The Carpentry Instructors were well prepared and did a terrific job working with the staff. Their momentum was outstanding between the various steps necessary to build a 3 peg shaker rack. Dan, Kevin,Pat and Ray emphasized safety prior to working with each of the power equipment. The class had fun while completing the project. This was a great example of having fun while learning...Dan,Ray,Kevin,Pat ..You did a great job!
I was in plumbing today and had a great time. I was very nervous at first but as I got started I had a lot of fun!
Now I know why the students have fun in shop. It is an interactive way to learn about something they enjoy.
Being a math teacher, I was able to see some of the math skills the students need in their shop. It was nice to see that they really do need math.
I was in electronics and had a great time. I think more of our in service days should be like this.
I am a geometry teacher and today I got to visit masonry. Today was awesome, we had a great time, learned a lot and got some useful information for integration purposes. I would love the opportunity to visit some other shops, and maybe now have a chance to create some problems from what we just learned.
Great job by our instructors, they showed alot of patience and didn't show off too much!!
rraistrick said....Experienced Culinary Arts...the experience was tremendous! Now I know exactly how much the teachers and students face every day, prepping, cooking, cleaning, serving, etc. The instructors were patient, explained and demonstrated for us, and proved to us that it was possible for us to actually cook and serve a complete lunch for 1:00! I, for one, didn't think it would be possible. Very hectic environment-but fun! Thanks to Chefs Sandra Day, Arnie Price, Mike Sarasin, Ed Micu!
I visited cosmetology from the guidance department.
The in-service was very well presented. The teachers were very well prepared and did a great job. I think it is important for everyone to have an appreciation for what others are doing in the building, not only for intergaration purposes, but just for the appreciation.
I think we should next allow technical teachers into academic and phys. ed. areas.
This was a fantastic in-service that really did justice to what our school is actually about. My partner and I made a brick wall in masonry, and despite some close calls with the mortar, we had a wonderful time. Don, Bill and Dan were awesome teachers and very forgiving...
Today's in-service was great. I thoroughly enjoyed the activity we did in electronics. The instructors were well prepared and their topic was interesting. We left with a small circuit that we completed. It was also an eye-opener to be in a position where i was learning something completely different. I could put myself in the student's position better and have empathy with the feelings they may have in my class. We she definitely have more in-service days like this!
I went to Graphics. I am in the Social Studies Dept. Mr. Fontaine, Mrs. Sarmento, and Mr. Chenette were fantastic. They were fun, enthusiastic, and knowledgable. I would like to try a different shop next year.
This was a great in-service - the best I can remember. The Masonry teachers were very good. I have a new appreciation for the field and the technical instructors. It's interesting to see how things work and to understand how these areas can be challenging for kids.
As a facilitator, I found my group most attentive and respectful. It was a pleasure working with such dynamic people.
My technincal field assignment was culinary. The instructors were excellent. My understanding of the operations and dynamics of the shop greatly expanded along with my waistline from partaking in our delicious projects. I am now a proud chef in training.
Strawberry shortcake forever.
Good in-service. Its nice to see the other of the school. After all the in-services about the classroom. Its realy great to see the real reason why the students come to a tech high school for.
It was a great day! The Frasier video set the tone and I'm sure helped more than one person relax about the day's activities. I was in Graphics and the instructors were excellent in presentng the lessons and making learning fun.
I teach science and I went to the plumbing shop.
Very enjoyable day. Was looking
forward to the hands on experience.
I was very comfortable using the tools and equipment. The guys very extremely helpful and supportive. We need more opportunities to get involved in the shops.
This inservice was a great idea. We may have shown a few teachers something they did'nt about GLTHS.
This project should be done more often
Today's in-service was interesting and funny. We learn the proper to remove hair, and the proper way to sanitize the skin for hair removing.

The Best in Service of the year!!!!!
The Bovine has left the building!
Today in-sevice was well done by the shop instructors. Helped give an understanding how much akills the kids need to do there trade.
Finally, a great inservice!!! An inservice that actually represents what this school was built on, Technical shops. I had culinary, and have a new appreciation for the restaurant. As a machinist, I know about deadlines, but theirs are unbelievable. All the work that goes into service lunch, on time. Every inservice should be about "shops".
I was with the 'Keepers of the Craft' a/k/a Masonry. It was absolutely wonderful. It gave me a better insight into what the students "do in shop" and the teaching strategies and abilities the teachers implement. As an academic teacher who only has the students for a limited time, I cannot fathom having 30 students working at different levels for 5+ hours a day. They deserve alot of credit.
This was one of the best in-service days we have had in a long time. I think it would be great if we could rotate to a different shop each month. This would allow us to develop a better rapport with the "shop" teachers and pour students.
Great job Mike!
1. I am in English teacher and I visited the Plumbing shop.
2. Today's in-service was the best ever! The guys were great and really helped us to complete our projects. It was fun way to spend the day.
3. I'd like to visit another shop area in the future.
This was a great idea, we got too teach what we love to teach, to people that wanted to be taught!!!
Great Day!!!!!!!
Visited P & D.
Enjoyed the painting, the music, and the motivational dance. Certainly a great trio of instructors!
Learned about different types of paint, paint tools, and techniques.
Great in-service.
I had a great time in P&D. I gained an understanding of what goes on in that shop, and found out some information that I can take back to my math instruction.
I visited Painting and Design and teach Early Childhood.
This was a great experience to see what else is going on in other areas. I was able to try something that I may not have otherwise. I would like to see another inservice devoted to this type of "sharing."
Carpentry, Physical Education. One of the best I've been to, hands on is always the best way to learn! Same idea, pick a different area.
I visited the Culinary Program and I teach Office Technology.
In service was the best....beginning Frasier movie set the tone...excellent! Culinary teachers were superb in teaching and were impressive professionals. Time-management was imperitive and everyone was working on a time-line similar to our kids......whew, it was a lot of work. Math was integrated in every dish. But, hands-on demos are a must. From my oberservations, it would seem that if a kids were absent, not in uniform, or is on the severe warning path, I don't know how they can deal with so much.
Bravo to all presenters! Bravo to Mike Barton! At 11:30 when the restaurant opens, I will certainly have a better idea of what happens in the morning hours.....Thank you Culinary teachers!
I visited the Painting & Decorating Shop where I was introduced to Faux Techniques.
George, Rick, and DJ had a great presentation, very informative, and something that is quite useful to know.
I thouroghtly enjoyed my day in the Painting and Decorating Shop.
I facilitated the in-service. I thought this was one of the best integration activities we have ever done.
I spent the afternoon changing tires! I have a better understanding of of the process involved and the dangers. We were supplied with safety glasses and gloves. This was a very informative day and I hope that in the future we can visit more of the shop areas.
I visited Cosmetology, and I am currently in Guidance.
Today's inservice was great, I think we should do this more often! The instructors did an excellent job.
I think we should repeat this, but visit a different shop.
I spent the afternoon in Painting and Decorating with George, Rick and DJ. The afternoon flew by with their interesting and informative presentation. This is great shop. Thank you.
1. I visited the Plumbing and Heating shop and I teach English.
2. I thought that this in-service was great. I had a wonderful time spending the day in plumbing. The day flew by and I really enjoyed learning a little bit about the trade. I hope that we do this again soon!!!
3. I would like to visit another shop area.
This was a great in service. Academic teachers may now be aware of what actually happens in some of the shops. As a technical teacher who participated in this I heard comments from some who said I could never stand on my feet like this all day or I could never do this. I think we should petition for the DOE to declare a day in May as "Give a Technical Teacher A Hug Day." Please remember what you experiencxed today when you are waiting for something to be printed in graphics, waiting for your lunch in the Artisan or when your car isn't ready the same day in Auto.
1. Cosmetology, History
2. Great in-service, very informative and tons of fun! Deb, Deb, and John were great!! Waxing is not as easy as it looks!! Thanks John for being such a good sport.....
3. Another integration day where we can visit a different shop area.
This inservice was a great idea. Plumbing teachers did an excellent job of taking us from classroom to shop to create a product and explained the way they simulate getting paid for work. I have a much better understanding of both shop and related class.
Beginning with Frazier and ending with the meal in Culinary this was by far the best in-service day yet. I hope we have another in-service with the same format so that people can experience a different shop area from todays. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire day! Thank you Culinary Department. You did a fantastic job!
nice presentation, it would be nice if our students were as receptive.
Awesome day spent in carpentry. The Instructor facilitators did an outstanding job preparing, delivering and concluding. The integrated lesson/project content approach was step by step beginning with ground rules including safety, expected outcome of each step.
The opportunity for interaction with peers was perhaps the most rewarding. There was no "sit and get" It was a 'part of the action'experience.
This day perhaps should serve as a Model for Future in Service days.
Great job!!!! Best in-service yet! Thank you to the teachers in Culinary Arts. They did a tremendous job. It was both interesting and fun.
I visted culinary and I teach math.
I forgot how hectic working in a restaurant can be. I can see why some of my students are so tired
when they arrive at math class.
It was nice to get out of the clasroom and work with other technical and academic teachers
in a vocational setting. The culinary teachers did a great job.
I would enjoy another similar in-service.
Today was great! I was in the graphic arts shop, and we created 3 projects. It was nice to be able to see a connection between the technical area and what I teach in geometry. The students in this shop are extremely lucky to have these teachers.
I am a biology instructor and was very lucky to have worked in culinary. The culinary instructors wanted to create an experience for us that would reflect what happens with their students. It was interesting and fun. Their environment is fast paced and precise. I have a much better understanding of the obstacles they face and some of the skills that the students are lacking and how we can work together to try to increase the student's skills in these area.
Today's in-service was in culinary, the staff was excellent, the food was excellent, and we had some interesting dialog going regarding current discipline issues and how culinary has unique problems being both a production and learning technical area.
Today was the best in-service yet. It was great to see how the technical areas operate. I attended the HVAC shop and enjoyed it immensely. It was good to experience something new in a hands on fashion.
Normally, I am an English teacher at Greater Lowell, but today I visited the Plumbing area. I was hesitant, at first, to use the torch and tools within the shop. However, with a little guidance, I was able to complete the task and succeed at the end of the day. I found it very informative and had a great time in the shop. The instructors were very helpful, especially Mr. Conlin who helped me along my way. It was a wonderful experience to see what the students go through daily in their shop areas.
In the future, I would really like to visit other shop areas. This was a great learning experience and I would enjoy doing this again soon.
Visiting the Metal Fab shop was really fun. I cannot think of a better way to encourage understanding and appreciation for one another and our daily functioning in the school than being immersed in it. The instructors are very professional, yet human :). We even left with our fabricated metal rose.
The presentation of Frasier was a great way to set the tone. This was the most enjoyable workshop I have attended.
The three gentlemen in painting and design did a great job showing us the ins and outs of faux design. It was informative and well orchestrated.
I visited the HVAC shop area today and I teach Physical Education.
I thought today was great. Mr. Dow did a great job leading us through our projuect. This hands on in service was a great idea.
I would love to do something like this again. it was a great experience.
I was in the culinary area. It was by far the best in-service that I have ever attended. I have always had the greatest admiration for the culinary staff and now they are my idols!! I cannot imagine doing this with high school students, with very sharp knives!under a time frame, trying to please "cranky" customers (are we cranky?), etc. It was awesome!
Also, loved the video.
What a great inservice!!!!
I was in P&D with George, Rick and Tim. They did a fabulous job and are great instructors. They showed us so many different painting techniques.
It was nice to interact with staff from all over the building.
I learned a lot from today...unlike the last inservice...sorry but I almost fell asleep last time : )
I visited the Electronics lab and particpated in creating a small circuit board just as the kids would. The preparations and instructions were well prepared.
There remains a separation in my
understanding as to how the academic instruction applies to this process.Perhaps some discussion of the electrical laws that apply to the process would have helped.
I VISITED AUTO TECH FOR THE IN-SERVICE. I FOUND THE TIME TO BE VERY INFORMATIVE, AND CLEARLY PRESENTED. THE TEACHERS IN AUTO TECH ARE CERTAINLY EXPERTS IN THEIR FIELD BUT ARE ABLE TO BREAK THE TASK DOWN SO EVEN A NOVICE CAN LEARN THE LANGUAGE AND THE SKILLS INVOLVED. ALSO. THERE IS A LOT OF INTEGRATION ACTIVITIES HAPPENING IN AUTO TECH. AWESOME JOB..WAY TO GO...THANKS
Great Job. I was in Auto Tech and the guys down there were terrific. The skills, which include lots of reading and writing, were important for me to see. I/we sometimes forget how much the kids must learn during their shop week. This is a great school with lots of great teachers. The hands-on training, even the simple stuff like tire codes, showed how much the kids must learn. The film at the lecture hall followed by the time in a shop which I know little about was a wonderful learning experience. Bob Dick
Awesome inservice! Its amazing what teachers can do while still having to discipline their students, who dont always like to listen. In culinary, we discussed how difficult it is with no detention, and no support from the "system". The teachers in this building (not the aministration) are incredible at what they have to do to teach our kids!
But this was the best inservice. Lets have more.
1.) Today I visited Culinary Arts and I teach freshman biology.
2.)I thought today was a wonderful idea. It is nice to give the academic teachers a chance to see exactly what is going on in the shop areas and how stressful it can be. We were working with adults I can't imagine doing what we did with kids!!!
3.) I would love to have the ability to experience more shop areas in future in-services.
The Graphics Shop put together a terrific in-service day for us. Getting the chance to be creative reminded me how important it is to let my students be creative in the classroom. The four instructors were very knowlegeable and helpful.
I have never been in the P&D area, with all they teach there..it seems like they need more room!
Great inservice
GREAT, GREAT, IN-SERVICE TODAY. THE BEST YET!!
MY IN-SERVICE TODAY WAS IN MASONRY. I HAD A WONDERFUL TIME DOING THE HANDS-ON BUILDING OF A BRICK WALL. IN ALL HONESTY, I BELIEVE THAT WE WOULD BENEFIT IF ALL IN-SERVICES WERE TO BE CONDUCTED THE WAY IT WAS TODAY. IT'S OF GREAT BENEFIT FOR ALL ACADEMIC TEACHERS TO BE EXPOSED TO THE VOCATIONAL AREA OF GLT'S CURRICULUM.
ON ANOTHER NOTE: THE FRASIER CLIP WAS A HOOT - A REAL STROKE OF GENIUS TO SHOW IT PRIOR TO THE IN-SERVICE PORTION.
GREAT JOB!
DORIS DIFONZO
I chose Culinary for my shop experience. I have a new found
appreciation for the people that
work in this shop!
I think Mike, Arnie, Sandy and Ed
do a great job!
More of these would be great. I met new people. Maybe a little more structure for integration discussion. Good for school climate. Maybe make video collage?thanks
It was a good time.
I really liked today's in-service. I enjoyed the comedy in the beginning. Then I liked working with people I don't normally work with and I learned a lot about the pressure one is under working in a business kitchen! Thank you to the Culinary Arts Teachers! Nice job co-workers- a delicious lunch!
Auto collision was fantastic! The instructors were well prepared and they gave us a pretty good tour of there easy bake oven as well as other parts of the area. John Sheehan should be proud of Ed,Ron, and Roy. These guys could make my Gremlin look like a Ferrari.
I'm a science teacher and I visited electrical today. Jim Page taught me how to strip wire, make hooks, and install an electrical box and receptacle. Using hand tools was fun. He was very informative and full of humorous stories. This was by far the best in-service I've ever participated in! Thank you Mike Barton! We should do the same thing again, but have everyone choose a different shop area. The Frasier clip was hysterical (and so true!)
This is by far the best inservice that I have attended in the two years that I have been teaching at the Tech. I went to carpentry and was not only impressed with the ecucational intensity of the program but the challenges these teachers face every day to keep the students safe and on task. I recommend many more inservices just like this so that we can all appreciate each others work and use every possibe way to connect our programs together.

I had the opportunity to work with some very interested people and really enjoyed sharing what we do here in the Automotive Shop with them .We actually teach the same way we taught the in service today. It was a blast and we shared alot of information as colleagues. What a great idea. P.S. Keep your hands off my TOOLS!!! Arty Cornellier
I had the pleasure of visiting the HVAC-R shop this aft.
MR.A,Mr.B, and Mr.D provided
a hands on demonstration as a team and were more natural than Moe, Larry and Curly. None of us were faklempt or confused even though the subject was deep, hot, profound and riviting.
Being a self confessed shlameal relative to mechanical gadgetry, I became enlightened as the torches were lit. With the seven other students it was as wonderous as my best menorah memory.
Today has given me a new understanding, perspective and appreciation for the meaningful work that is performed in the shop each day. I'm happy I didn't Passover this shop while making this choice.
Best in-service since Rabbi Zachery Clements! Mazel Tov!!
A great day for our holiday week.
Shalom
I was a presenter for today's in-service. I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with our academic teachers. They did a great job in their participation. Hope to do it again for other teachers.
Todays In-Service was a CLASSIC. I think it puts a perspective in place that Vocational Schools are the best alternative for todays type of learner.THE BEST YET!!!
I was a presenter, and I had a ball! I would like to do it again, so that I could go out into another shop. Again, it was great to show off our craft and our expertese. Everyone seemed to reaally enjoy themselves. Thanks Mike--great job.
I attended the plumbing shop session. It was great -- provided insights for what teachers and students do, what the expectations are, what the connection to industry is, etc.
Could be expanded into a full day activity where teachers select 3-4 shops to visit.
Teachers will be much better at making personal connections with their students.
The P&D shop was very informative and fun. The kids are very lucky to have such great teachers that know their stuff.
Today's in-service was wonderful. I was in Auto Tech with Steve, Artie and Phil and they made their presentation and the hands-on experience informative, practical, and alot of fun. I look forward to more in-services such as these. Nice job to everyone involved.
Excellent in-sevice today. Mr. Barton should be commended. Culinary was fun, interesting and informative. Thank you to all the
teachers.
Hats off to Mr Barton for am job well done. This was by far one of the better in service days this year.In the future maybe this type of inservice should be presented earlier in the schoolyear.Everyone thoruoghly enjoyed themselves.
Mr Dunn and Mr Stienberg made it inton the Tardy log.
GREAT IN _ SERVICE HATS OFF TO METAL FAB.
I was a presenter and I thought it was a great idea to share what we do with other teachers. I think everyone came away with an appreciation of what happens in the shops. I don't think there was ample time to really address the idea of integration of academics and technical. Maybe a follow up would be a good idea.
I had alot of fun teaching my fellow teachers that I never get to see! It was great to see all the enthusiasm and competition......all for a can of Pringles! This experience helped me realize the validity of my project, since the students gave their undivided attention and effort. I now realize how easy it is to integrate on such projects. Everyone seems to "freak out" at the word integration, but it is actually in many lessons we do everyday.
This was as great inservice. I was in P&D and we had a great time. It was very informative and gave us a good idea of what the students do in P&D. It was also very useful on a personal level....I learned alot in a short amount of time. The instructors were great!
Good for people to know.
